Andrew Emms was made a Life Member of Reed Cricket Club during the Sixty-second Annual General Meeting last Thursday. Andrew has worked on a variety of projects at the Club in his time as it has grown from rural village side to one of the finest clubs in Hertfordshire. He continues to volunteer and carry-out many of the manual labouring jobs that need doing as well as organising annual charity luncheons that have raised money for many worthy causes. In his early days he was particularly involved in setting-up the Colts’ structure from which the Club has benefitted with a constant supply of young players coming through to the senior teams. After many years as Committee member and Club Chairman, Andrew remains the figurehead of the Club as its President since 2012. He is a generous socialiser and a very loyal member of the Club and deserves this recognition. He now joins a very select band of Life Members comprising Clive Collins, Rosemary Collins, Keith Collins and Roger Bowcock. Peter G. Baker. Honorary Secretary, Reed CC 2nd December 2018.
Awards Winners 2018 Congratulations to all the Winners of the various Club Awards that were presented at the Annual Dinner at the Old Bull Inn last night. This year’s winners are listed below. To see previous winners, (going back decades in some cases), look at the “History” pages on this website. The background explanations for the particular award are included.
Reed Cricket Club is pleased to receive this award from the ECB Small Grants Scheme. RCC is appreciative to the ECB for its continued commitment to grass-roots cricket which has assisted our Club make improvements to the facilities over a number of years that will enable our players to develop and progress and benefit our members and supporters. PGB, Honorary Secretary, Reed CC.
At the Presentation Evening held on Thursday 22nd March, the following Colts won trophies for their contributions during the 2017 Season. U11 Most Improved Player - ADAM GARDNER U13 Player of the Year - JACK BEBER U11 Player of the Year - CHARLIE WALTERS U13 Clubman - DONI FOUMAKIS U11 Clubman - EDWARD COOK U13 Most Improved Young Player - ROSS GARDNER U11 Most Improved Young Player - DANIEL VINCENT The curious ones amongst you may wish to look at all the previous winners' names. Look at all those youngsters who won awards when they were Colts. Whilst some have grown-up and continue to play for Reed (and in some cases, for neighbouring clubs), we wonder where are the others now? From the Menu along the top of this Homepage, choose "History", then "Seasons Awards" and pick the relevant Year Group. The earliest awards for Colts date back to 1991.

Roger Bowcock was made a Life Member of Reed Cricket Club during the Sixtieth Annual General Meeting last Thursday. Roger joined Reed CC in 1973 and in his 43-year association has worked tirelessly and mostly unnoticed on a variety of projects at the Club. His engineering knowledge has been tapped frequently, and he continues to carry-out many of the manual labouring jobs that need doing. Roger was the king of the late cut back in his playing days which ceased about 15 years ago. He is a familiar figure at Reed and a great supporter of the Club strolling around the boundary on match days. Roger is an astute watcher and the official selectors might be wise to listen to his considered opinions. His is normally the first-shout at the Bar and he is a popular drinking partner. Reed CC has a very select band of Life Members and I am very happy to report that Roger has now joined Howard Marshall, Clive Collins, Rosemary Collins and Keith Collins in that small group. Peter G. Baker. Honorary Secretary, Reed CC November 2016.
