Reed CC 4th XI continued their impressive season with a hard-fought two-wicket victory away to Cockfosters 3rd XI, chasing down 192 with four balls to spare after an excellent all-round team performance.

Having won the toss and elected to field, Reed produced a disciplined display with the ball. Cockfosters' Aman Relia played an outstanding innings of 92, but Reed stuck to their task superbly. The standout performers were the club's two Under 13 bowlers, Joshua England and Eddie Heslam, whose accurate and economical spells kept the pressure firmly on the home side. J England was exceptional, returning figures of 3-14 from seven overs, including three maidens, while Heslam came on late to claim a wicket and conceded just eight runs from his three overs. The pair demonstrating maturity well beyond their years. The bowling proved crucial in restricting Cockfosters to 191-7 from their 40 overs.

Reed's reply suffered an uncertain start, slipping to 53-4 before Scott Nash and Joshua England came together to transform the innings. The pair produced a magnificent 101-run partnership, combining sensible shot selection with calm composure to wrestle control of the chase. Nash led the way with a superb 62, striking nine boundaries and a six, while the ever-reliable England compiled an invaluable 31, occupying the crease and providing the perfect foil as the pair steadily edged Reed towards their target.

Although a few late wickets added some tension, Reed kept their nerve. Sam Dawson remained unbeaten on 11 before Liam Nash's quickfire 17 not out ensured Reed crossed the line at 195-8, securing a deserved 30-point victory.

Another true team effort, keeping the 4s on track for promotion and a possible league title in their first season.
