Members of all abilities welcome!

Reed Cricket Club located just outside Royston, are actively encouraging new members to join us for the 2024 season.

As a club, we are a non-profit organisation in the picturesque village of Reed. We have a proud history of more than 65 years, including 3 national village cups won at Lords within the last 12 years. We invite new members to join our club regardless of cricketing experience, ability or age.

Reed Cricket Club provides cricket coaching for over 100 local children and assists coaches to obtain relevant sporting qualifications to support our junior members. New members are always welcome. The club are in the process of raising money for new state-of-the-art outdoor practice nets, which all members will be able to benefit from when constructed. Any sponsors or donations to support this are always welcome!

We currently offer players of all standards and ages the following levels of cricket:

  • Three Saturday adult teams, who play in the Saracens Herts Cricket League (1XI Div 1, 2XI Div 4B, 3XI Div 10A).
  • An adult friendly team playing on Sundays.
  • An adult National Village Cup team on Sundays (where the final is at Lords!)
  • Mixed junior teams at Under 9s, Under 11s, Under 13s and Under 15s as well as All Stars (4-8)

Cricket is an important aspect of the club but not the only thing we offer. We offer a wide range of social events (taking advantage of the clubhouse's new refurbished bar when possible!). Last year we successfully hosted regular pool and darts nights, quiz nights, live music and a exciting President’s Day in August where a six-a-side cricket competition takes place. Team spirit has always been an important aspect to us at Reed, which is often helped by team curries and social activities outside of the club throughout the season. We have also made numerous improvements to the clubhouse, including new furnishings, a new kitchen and a general makeover. The clubhouse is also available to hire for private events.
